Small Works
Wednesday, June 06, 2007This week I've had a killer cold...maybe it's something to do with the mildew in the basement...hmmmm... Anyway, because of it, I haven't had the energy to stretch large canvas. So I've been making some smaller works.
The first is another lips painting from a dream I had about bad singing. (Yeah, I have no idea.) The next is a big space of orange. I wanted to make it look like I've crossed something out. Hopefully it leaves something for the viewer's imagination. I've been scraping off thick paint for a weathered look.
I've also dabbled back into watercolor and realism to brush up on value (the scale from light to dark). To accomplish this, I'm doing the enormous taboo of coping directly from a magazine. *GASP* I still have a lot of work to do on it.
