I love oils!
Wednesday, April 11, 2007Now that I'm back working with oil paints, my artwork is progressing in the direction I want it to. I have proof in the photo above. I was questioning content of work, what the point of abstract painting was, etc., but I've found it's just better to create art from the heart. These deeper questions, while very important to keep in mind, can ironically be a hindrance. Trying to force content just doesn't work in art. You end up with contrived work. Well, I do at least. It's better to let my heart do the talking and let my head catch up later. It's funny how intuition can sometimes be more logical.
